Banksia Park Primary School (PS) is looking for a highly organised, collaborative and knowledgeable deputy to join our school’s improvement journey. Overseeing a diverse range of school operations, our deputy is instrumental in ensuring the effective functioning of the school, leading staff to achieve the whole school initiatives and Business Plan targets.

The Role
The successful applicant should be energetic, highly committed with outstanding organisational skills. They should possess a strong evidence-based pedagogy aligned with the Quality Teaching Strategy. With outstanding interpersonal skills, they will ideally have a proven ability to self-manage, multitask and engage with all stakeholders to deliver effectively on projects.
Strong curriculum leadership and experience leading school improvement along with understanding change management processes will be highly regarded. They will work collaboratively as part of a cohesive, team oriented and solutions focused administration team. The successful applicant should be committed to a consultative model of leadership and have a focus on building and supporting distributed leadership across the school.
A strong capacity in core learning areas literacy/numeracy along with Digital Technologies and Early Childhood education is highly desirable. The Deputy Principal will have leadership of the Student Services portfolio and a strong curriculum capacity to develop and oversee Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions supporting diverse student needs. They will also need to deliver professional learning and should have high levels of teaching proficiency for developing impactful Tier 1 teaching strategies including classroom observation and coaching across the school. Experience with StepLab and Promoting Literacy Development (PLD) would be highly advantageous.
They should have a commitment to continual improvement with explicit, measured outcomes and effective data analysis driving a cohesive, connected approach to curriculum and pedagogical development across the school.
