The Role
The Youth Engagement and Support Worker is responsible for improving the wellbeing, resilience and pro-social behaviours of young people. As a core member of our Student Wellbeing Team, the successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing positive support strategies that foster student engagement - inside and outside the classroom. Acting as a link between the young person and other appropriate agencies within the community, the Youth Engagement and Support Worker will be responsible for supporting students as well as implementing and reviewing support plans.
A key aspect of this role is developing and maintaining strong relationships with students – increasing regular attendance and promoting positive mental/physical health to enhance student learning outcomes. The successful applicant should have the skills and experience necessary to implement appropriate engagement and intervention strategies for students requiring support. The role may also involve appropriate data entry, report writing, participation in case conferences as well as management of student case notes.
