Your new role
We are seeking a motivated and suitably experienced
professional to join our Program Delivery team as the Executive
Program Director for the Human Resource Management Information
System (HRMIS) Program.
This is a Fixed Term Full Time
appointment until 30 June 2027 with
the possibility of extension(s).
WA Health currently has multiple standalone systems to
manage rosters, payroll and Human Resources (HR) employee
information for over 60,000 staff. The HRMIS Program is a major ICT
program to replace and reform payroll and rostering systems across
the WA Health system by introducing a single HR, payroll and
rostering solution that is simple, reliable and accessible.
The HRMIS Program is being led by HSS in partnership with the
Department of Health, Health Service Providers as well as other
entities.
As the Executive Program Director for the HRMIS Program, you
will be responsible for:
- Providing executive and strategic leadership to ensure the
successful execution of the program and implementation of a new
payroll system for WA Health in line with approved schedules
and financial parameters.
- Regularly interfacing and reporting on program status,
providing objective and impartial advice and insights to the
HSS Chief Executive and Board, Director General, relevant
governance groups or Government representatives.
- Proactively scanning internal and external landscapes to
identify emerging risks and issues, ensuring appropriate
interventions and mitigation strategies are implemented to
avoid delays, financial implications, and reputational
damage.
- Leading and advising on all program decision-making,
ensuring decisions are appropriately informed, strategically
aligned, commercially and fiscally responsible, and delivery
focused.
- Ensuring robust financial and resource governance,
management and controls exist and overall program budget health
and performance is maintained.
- Overseeing the technical design, development and
configuration of a fit-for-purpose payroll system, including
user acceptance testing to identify and urgently remediate
technical issues to enable successful solution deployment.
- Maintaining oversight of WA health system-wide readiness
reforms and change management activities to enable an effective
and efficient system transition.
- Fostering a delivery-focused culture across all levels and
directly driving a high-performing senior leadership team.

and impartial advice and insights to senior stakeholders such
as the HSS Chief Executive and Board, Director General and
other governance groups.
- Strong skills in leadership and experience fostering a
high-performing and delivery-focused culture, including the
ability to motivate, inspire and empower large teams to achieve
objectives.
- High level interpersonal and negotiation skills are
essential for maintaining relationships, resolving conflicts,
managing stakeholder expectations, and securing necessary
resources and support for the program. Must be able to adapt
and respond to audiences at all levels to influence and
advocate persuasively for program interests.
- a comprehensive CV that clearly shows your experience
relevant to this role; and
- the names and contact details of two professional
referees. It is preferable for one of your referees to be your
current supervisor or manager.
