This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing July 2025 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency
The Ministerial Services branch acts as the key link between the Department and Ministers, managing Ministerial correspondence, briefing notes, and Parliamentary and Cabinet processes.
The Role
In this role, you will provide professional support to the Manager through research, analysis, and oversight of ministerial business activities, ensuring projects and priority tasks are effectively delivered. When required, you will play a key role in managing the Ministerial Tracking System (MTS), including workflow hierarchies, testing, and updates, while also supporting the development of new functionalities in collaboration with Solutions Development and Maintenance. A critical aspect of the role involves developing resources, delivering training on MTS and ministerial processes, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date content on the Department’s intranet platforms.
As the Senior Ministerial Officer, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of timely, high-quality documentation and advice to the Ministers. You will oversee the coordination of Ministerial correspondence, Cabinet submissions, Parliamentary questions, briefings, and reporting requirements, including support for Parliamentary estimates and the Department’s annual report. The role includes performance management and support of direct reports, managing workflow in staff absences, monitoring leave balances, and contributing to recruitment and induction processes.
