The Role
Honeywood PS is seeking a dedicated Education Assistant – Special Needs to join their team.
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will, under teacher direction, assist in the delivery of education programs and in promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The successful applicant will assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs to support students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, social, emotional and physical skills.
The successful applicant should have well developed interpersonal skills and a growth mindset to enable them to work collaboratively with staff members, take on feedback and meet the needs of students. You will ideally possess knowledge and experience of working with students with a range of disabilities and learning difficulties and the ability to support student growth, both academically and socially, within the classroom setting. In addition, the successful applicant will ideally possess good written and oral communication skills which will help support teachers and therapists when assisting students.
