We are seeking to establish a pool of Workplace Learning & Vocational Education and Training Support Officers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

This position supports the Program Coordinator in the development and operation of our Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Workplace Learning programs. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting students in their career pathways and fostering strong relationships with industry employers.

Suitable applicants will play a key role in coordinating and maintaining program documentation, sourcing tailored VET programs, facilitating workplace placements, and ensuring that students successfully complete their Workplace Learning program.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the Program Coordinator in the establishment and ongoing operation of the school’s Workplace Learning program, including developing and maintaining program documentation, support materials, and a procedures manual.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to assess students’ skills and abilities to identify appropriate student work placements.
  • Assist in identifying and securing appropriate industry placements for students, ensuring alignment with their career goals.
  • Conduct site checks and meetings with prospective employers to assess placement suitability.
  • Assist in the training and induction of students into the Workplace Learning program, as well as the training and induction of workplace supervisors.
  • Foster networks for workplace teachers and assessors, enhancing the support available for students and employers.
  • Monitor students' work placement progress by visiting workplaces, checking student logbooks, and ensuring the completion of required hours and tasks.
  • Evaluate student enrolment and completion data, providing regular reports to the Program Coordinator.
  • Undertake administrative duties, including maintaining the Workplace Learning Program database and preparing correspondence.

Key Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in VET and Workplace Learning programs is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Have excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and uploads
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with students, staff, and industry employers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of workplace learning compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Proficient in using databases, office software, and other administrative tools.
  • A commitment to supporting students in their career development and ensuring successful program outcomes.
