
We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Mainstream Education Assistants, along with all other staff members at Dayton Primary School:

Mainstream Education Assistants working in our kindergarten:
- assist the teachers in the delivery of education programs,
- collaborate with the teachers, as required, to plan and deliver individual student or small group programs that support both academic and social development, and
- assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by organising equipment and resources.
Suitable applicants will ideally have:
- a passion for working with young children and a desire to see each child succeed,
- a high level of interpersonal skills to enable them to work collaboratively with other staff members to meet the needs of students, and
- knowledge and experience working with students of varied abilities and needs, and from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
It would be advantageous for the successful applicants to have experience with promoting early literacy development (using a Science of Reading approach) and supporting students with the development of oral language, fine motor and handwriting skills.

- consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
