Delivery of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services provides support for the Department’s educational outcomes by developing initiatives and technical support strategies to ensure all 800 Western Australian public schools can be individual, distinctive and responsive to their local communities while still benefiting from being part of a system.
The ICT Architecture and Systems Analysis branch contributes to our strategic directions by providing effective governance and support for the delivery of innovative and secure digital capability. Through solution architecture, we collaboratively design IT solutions with stakeholders, managing the entire solution design lifecycle. This includes analysing requirements and technology environments, selecting appropriate technologies, creating both high-level and detailed designs, planning implementation, overseeing solution development, and providing project support. We also build knowledge of ICT solutions and business processes across the Department to enable digital advancements and transformations.
The Role
As a Solutions and Security Architect, you will contribute to the development and implementation of solution architectures, policies, and practices that support secure and efficient data management. You will play a key role in ensuring that security testing, risk minimisation, and change management processes are effectively integrated into ICT solutions. Your expertise will enhance the Enterprise Architecture Repository and solution designs, while also ensuring that any changes affecting customer interactions are well-communicated and managed. Additionally, you will investigate and resolve complex ICT issues, providing strategic solutions that align with the Department’s objectives.
This position requires a strong understanding of ICT governance, security frameworks, IT architecture concepts and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert advice on ICT solutions, data security, and enterprise architecture. Your role will involve researching technologies, supporting change management initiatives, and representing ICT in technology selection forums. By fostering collaboration and innovation, you will contribute to a secure, effective, and future-ready technology environment.
