The Context
The Parent Liaison Office plays a vital role in implementing a collaborative, coordinated, and sustainable approach to supporting parents, carers, schools and the community within the Department of Education, ensuring the engagement of every student. It serves as a central point of contact for coordinating complex complaints support, providing timely information and ongoing assistance regarding emerging issues.
Parent Liaison’s team links relevant services across the Department to assist parents, carers and schools to resolve complex complaints throughout all phases of the resolution process. It enhances services with a trauma informed inclusive approach to everyone involved in a dispute. Services include liaison between parents, carers and schools to support improved communication, explaining Department complaints and related education systems, mediation and complaints resolution, and professional learning and resource development for schools and parents to support effective complaints management. Parent Liaison seeks a best-practice approach to conflict resolution supports for parents and carers navigating the complaints process.
The Role
The Parent Liaison team is responsible for the implementation of a collaborative, coordinated and sustainable approach to support the delivery of services to schools, parents, carers and the community from within the Department to support the engagement of every student.
Parent Liaison develops, implements and monitors initiatives for the delivery of services and support programs that are responsive and relevant to the needs of schools, parents and carers, consistent with the Department’s strategic direction.
If successful, you will work with the Manager and team to implement, monitor, review and evaluate policies, processes and procedures related to expanded project services for effective management and resolution of complaints and concerns received by schools from parents and carers. The successful applicant will also provide high-level advisory and consultancy services to senior department officers and school leaders for parent complaint management, initiatives, procedures and policies.
