The Role
We are seeking an aspirant or experienced Deputy Principal to lead our Education Support Centre and oversee the learning and behaviour of students with disabilities across the school. The successful applicant should ideally promote and maintain high expectations and lead teaching, learning, and assessment. The Deputy Principal assumes a pivotal role, working closely with the Principal and the administrative team to shape the school's identity. Educational leadership is a key responsibility, involving the active development and promotion of the school's values, ethos, and priorities.
The Centre operates within the High School, and we are looking for a leader who is passionate about supporting and developing inclusive practices in an integrated, one-school model. This leadership role involves overseeing the general management of the Centre, including the performance management of education support teachers, supporting student enrolments and behaviour, and driving strategic planning to improve educational outcomes for students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be committed to inclusivity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, working alongside staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the success and well-being of students with disabilities.
In addition, the Deputy Principal will oversee disability and inclusive practices across the school, ensuring the success and well-being of students with disabilities. This position involves leading the delivery of the School Plan through strategic decision-making, policy development, and the establishment of systems that align with the school’s objectives. The Deputy Principal will provide strategic direction to staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth and improvement, while also managing the daily well-being of staff and students and ensuring the integration of inclusive practices throughout the school.
