This is a seven (7) month fixed term, full-time position commencing May 2025 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency
The Staff Recruitment and Employment Services Directorate provides human resource consultancy services to principals, line managers, and staff across schools, central, and regional offices. The team supports various functions, including attracting, recruiting, and appointing quality staff, managing position and salaries budgets, overseeing case management for employees requiring placement, and coordinating housing and transport for rural and remote staff.
The Role
In this role, you will provide leadership, direction, and support to Housing and Transport Coordinators and their teams, ensuring the consistent delivery of services within specified timeframes and performance expectations. You will maintain a contemporary understanding of industrial agreements and entitlements, providing expert advice and consultancy to clients and senior management. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regional Directors of Education, will be essential to ensuring the effectiveness of housing and transport programs.
As part of this role, you will implement and monitor processes to evaluate the efficiency of housing and transport services, identifying gaps and inconsistencies while driving continuous improvement. You will support and communicate management decisions in a professional manner, contribute to policy development, and lead projects to enhance service delivery. Managing staff performance, providing coaching and training, and overseeing leave entitlements in line with Departmental policy are also key aspects of this position.
Leave is very restricted for all team members during our peak housing and relocations period, 1 November to 1 March annually.
