The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Principal to join our leadership team. The successful candidate would play a crucial role in leading our school, supporting staff, and ensuring the wellbeing of our students. This position involves a blend of leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will ideally promote and uphold the school's values, vision, and strategic direction.
The Deputy Principal would ideally demonstrate strong leadership qualities to inspire and guide staff and students. They should engage in classroom teaching and model best practices in education. Supporting staff in implementing explicit instruction aligned with Department of Education's Quality Teaching Strategy is crucial. The Deputy Principal will lead and manage change initiatives within the school, strengthening classroom observation and feedback processes. Additionally, they would develop the capacity of staff to utilise data analysis skills to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.
Implementing and promoting positive behaviour management strategies (PBS) is a key part of the role. The Deputy Principal will oversee the wellbeing of both students and staff, promoting student engagement and creating a safe, caring learning environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with staff to facilitate multi-tiered systems of support to improve outcomes for all students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with a team-oriented and collaborative approach. The Deputy Principal should strengthen and build positive communication, relationships and partnerships within the school and the broader school community.
