Swimming and Water Safety are seeking to establish a pool of Program Coordinator for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of April, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Swimming and Water Safety is responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of the Interm and VacSwim swimming programs that promote vital swimming and water safety skills for children aged 5 – 17. You’ll play a key part in coordinating the people and resources required to make sure these programs are successful
The Role
You don’t need to be an expert in swimming programs!
This role is perfect for people who enjoy organising and coordinating teams of people and ensuring the smooth operation of programs.
What’s important in this role is your ability to oversee the development, management and evaluation of these programs, and to be able to work effectively with the right people to make it all happen. It’s all about delivering great swimming and water safety programs for the benefit of children.
This includes:
- managing human resources (ensuring the right instructors are in place to deliver quality programs)
- engaging with various stakeholders like venue operators and school staff to ensure program success.
- using MS Office systems and data bases to keep all aspects of the programs on track and organised
- evaluating the programs and working to continuously improve their effectiveness and the experience for school staff and their students.
What are we looking for?
- Experience in managing or coordinating programs or teams of people.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and working with databases.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of people.
- A passion for helping others and improving programs.
