We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Dalwallinu District High School (DHS) has strong partnerships with the local community. We cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and have a friendly atmosphere typical of a small rural community. We have approximately 70 students in our secondary school and our classes all have less than 20 students. Year 11 and 12 students learn through the School of Isolated and Distance Education (SIDE) and our Year 7 to 10 students receive face-to-face teaching in specialist secondary classrooms. Approximately 40% of our students are from families born overseas, predominately Filipino. Many of our students live on farms in the surrounding areas and travel to school by bus. We enjoy a high level of parent support and engagement and a very low level of misbehaviour.
Our vision is to empower and inspire our students to become life-long learners through high-quality teaching and learning. At Dalwallinu DHS, we value our four core positive behaviour expectations of Mindful, Organised, Respectful and Strive for excellence of our teaching, support, students, and community.
At Dalwallinu DHS, we aim to make our school the heart of our community. We have strong representation and relationships with our community partners that are integral to the success of both our students and community, and we want these to continue to foster and grow.
