
We are seeking to establish a pool of Cleaner for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
At Northam Primary School (PS), we cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and currently have just over 300 students. Our students come from the local town and from the outlying farms and rural properties.
Our school fosters a safe and inclusive learning environment; we focus on building positive relationships with students, parents, carers and with the wider community. Our staff, comprising of newly graduated teachers through to teachers with many years of experience and dedicated non-teaching staff, work together to develop individual potential through excellence in education. The Role
Suitable applicants will carry out internal cleaning duties, in accordance with the Department’s procedures. The duties include the maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal and other items of general cleaning.
In addition to this, suitable applicants would also carry out external cleaning duties, including the cleaning of verandas and covered areas, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, other general cleaning and other such duties as required by the Cleaner in Charge. Vacation cleaning duties also need to be completed and include shampooing carpets and pressure cleaning various areas. Cleaners hours are usually compressed during school vacation periods.
To be suitable for this role, you will ideally have good attention to detail and be able to work well both individually and as part of a team to ensure a clean and safe school environment. Suitable applicants should ideally be organised, honest, reliable and punctual and ideally have excellent knowledge of cleaning equipment and safe cleaning procedures, methods and practices.
