Mount Lawley Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic School Psychologist to join our friendly team. We are a dynamic, innovative, and inclusive community that nurtures and inspires lifelong learning with high levels of achievement and expectations for all. Working alongside our Learning Support Coordinator and School Chaplain as an integral member of our Student Services Team, our School Psychologist works closely with the school administration, teachers and parents to support the school in making improvements that will develop the academic and behavioural needs of our students, supporting all students to achieve success in their educational journey.
Mount Lawley PS is an Independent Public School situated 4km from the Perth CBD. Having been rebuilt in 2015, the façade of the school represents our strong heritage while the inside is modern with excellent facilities. With 21 classrooms from Kindy to Year 6, Specialist teachers in Digital Technology, Italian, Music and Physical Education, we highly value our extra-curricular programs and take pride in delivering a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

The Role
The School Psychologist at Mount Lawley PS will provide specialist consultation, intervention and assessment services to our school community to help us meet the academic, behavioural, social and emotional needs of our amazing students.
Your experience and demonstrated skill in providing support for our teachers with strategies and adjustments for student learning, as well as your capacity to conduct assessments of learning and behaviour will be highly regarded in this process. Ideally, the successful applicant will have experience in providing professional learning opportunities to develop our whole school practices in our SAER programs and confidence in sharing current research & evidence-based practices with our staff and community. Your ability to provide support for students experiencing mental health and wellbeing difficulties and assisting our school with the development of positive mental health and wellbeing programs will be beneficial in the role as a member of our Student Services team.

- Ability to implement school psychology services and programs in an educational environment to maximise student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of the implementation and evaluation of a variety of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group and system-level intervention.
- High level written and oral communication skills, demonstrating the capacity to produce correspondence, reports and case notes, and interview and training (facilitation) skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way, and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, working with a range of clients across the lifespan, Department personnel and inter-agency partners across a variety of contexts.
- Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment and analysis, intervention and evaluation.
