
This is a nine (9) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2025 with possible extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
Melville Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an innovative and dynamic educational leader to join the executive team to fill the role of Deputy Principal. The Deputy Principal will work closely with the Principal and members of the executive team to provide exceptional educational leadership in the school and the community.

The Role
The Deputy Principal will ideally work independently, demonstrating initiative, as well as collaboratively, developing strategies and targets to support the school’s business plan. The successful applicant will be strategic in their thinking and planning and possess the qualities needed to bring people together, identify opportunities and establish initiatives
Key portfolios in this role are senior schooling, timetable operations, overseeing the Intensive English Centre and Kaartdijin implementation. The Deputy Principal will also be a significant contributor to school and program review, policy development and school improvement processes. The Deputy Principal will ideally be familiar with the use of Compass, Connect, SIS, and other administrative systems.
As a Department of Education Quality Teaching Strategy Lead School, the successful applicant should demonstrate familiarity with Teaching for Impact and be able to demonstrate leadership in teaching and learning.
