The Role
The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and committed to education, ideally, with leadership experience in an English department. They should have a thorough understanding of the English curriculum, including the K-10 Western Australian Curriculum and senior school General and Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) courses, and a proven ability to deliver effective and engaging learning programs that promote inclusivity and challenge for a diverse student body both within and beyond the classroom. In this role, the successful applicant will oversee the planning, assessment, and reporting of student progress in line with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA). A key focus will be on leading staff to deliver engaging and rigorous programs that align with the school’s pedagogical emphasis and Teaching and Learning Framework. The role also involves managing the English Learning Area’s operational plan, budget, and resources, as well as coordinating events such as excursions, incursions, and school-wide presentations.
