Beverley District High School (DHS) is an Independent Public School providing a quality education experience to around 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 11. The Role
Beverley (DHS) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Special Needs Education Assistant, to join its professional team.
The successful applicant will assist Teachers to provide a high level of quality, evidence based, instruction and support to students with a variety of abilities and/or learning needs.
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will, under Teacher direction, assist in the delivery of education programs and promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students from Kindergarten to Year 11.
The successful applicant will assist students to reach their full potential through the development of academic, social, emotional, and physical skills.
You will ideally possess demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal qualities which will enhance and promote the school’s values, ethos, and priorities. The capacity to build positive relationships to assist all students will be highly valued.
The successful applicant for this position must display a commitment to building positive partnerships with students, parents, staff, and the wider Beverley school community.
A willingness and the capacity to provide assistance to students with a variety of physical and psychological abilities and/or learning needs is essential.

- Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to interact with students with special needs, parents and teaching professionals on the provision of educational programs, and to assist teachers in understanding students where necessary.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
