The Department of Education’s Statewide Services Centre provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery.
Service Design and Support provides the shared functions and support needed to provide better services to schools. It also coordinates, implements and supports programs, initiatives, and special projects. Its purpose is to provide strategy, policy and program oversight and operational support to Statewide Services.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Network Administrator to join our System Services and Responses branch at the Padbury site to provide support and hands on technical expertise across the management of our IT infrastructure, networks and applications. In this newly established position, you will play a pivotal role in establishing processes and supporting a range of different business areas with their processes, making suggestions and assisting with the smooth running of the site.
As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the site’s network infrastructure, contributing to system enhancements by researching and identifying appropriate IT resources while assisting in the adaptation of existing programs to meet user needs. You will provide training to administration staff, offering support through personal tuition and self-help instructions so that they can effectively support their teams. Your responsibilities extend to monitoring system performance, troubleshooting IT issues, and coordinating system updates to ensure operational efficiency. By liaising with internal teams and external suppliers, you will facilitate the effective resolution of network administration challenges, supporting a reliable and secure IT environment and contributing to the management and renewal plans for all IT related assets and resources.
