The Role
Grandis PS is committed to a high-impact, high-care environment and is seeking a self-motivated, knowledgeable, organised, and team-oriented leader to join its Administration Team. Overseeing school operations, the Deputy Principal is instrumental in ensuring the effective functioning of the school. This may include delivering the Grandis Primary School Business Plan through decision-making structures, policy development, data analysis, and the establishment of systems that align with the school's overarching objectives. Additionally, the Deputy Principal provides strategic direction for staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in professional performance. They would also play a vital role in the daily management of staff and student well-being.
The suitable applicants will ideally work closely with the Principal and leadership team to provide educational leadership within the school and community, promoting and driving the school’s vision and strategic directions. They should possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with teachers, parents, students, and the broader school community.
Suitable applicants would be committed to leading and supporting whole school practices and have highly developed knowledge and expertise in research-based practices. They would be required to provide strong curriculum leadership across the school and work to ensure whole school approaches identified in the new Business Plan are embedded in classroom practice. The role may involve leading whole school initiatives in a collaborative culture, ensuring shared ownership of the school's vision and goals. This includes leading evidence-based teaching practices, lesson design and methodologies. The role of the Deputy Principal of the initial appointment from the pool will lead Numeracy and Digital Technology whole-school practices. Knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) systems will also be advantageous.
Suitable applicants should champion a collaborative culture with distributed leadership at the heart of decision-making structures. This collaborative ethos extends to change management, where the Deputy Principal strategically facilitates the acceptance of change and identifies opportunities for improved service delivery.
You should have a strong belief in the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and restorative practices, and the flexibility to adapt if presented with challenging behaviours.
To foster a sense of belonging, suitable applicants must demonstrate experience in developing strong working relationships with the entire school community, recognising and celebrating cultural diversity, and prioritizing the social and emotional well-being of all students and staff.
