The Role
Makybe Rise PS is seeking a strategic leader who is innovative and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people as a key member of the Executive and Leadership Team.
In collaboration with the Principal and the Executive Team, the Deputy Principal will provide educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school’s vision, business plan, and strategic directions across the school community. A significant responsibility of the Deputy Principal is to embed and maintain aspects of the school culture that promotes positive relationships between students and staff. Furthermore, to engage parents’ caregivers and the wider community in the educational work of the school.
As a high-performing leader, you will ideally work collaboratively with all staff and students and use your excellent interpersonal skills to contribute to a culture of high expectations where students and staff learn, grow and adjust to change. The successful applicant should possess the ability to think and plan strategically and identify innovative and practical solutions to challenges. They should ideally display the capacity to contribute to the development of a positive school culture that exhibits high expectations linked directly to successful student outcomes in a wide range of pathways.
The Deputy Principal should bring with them a passion for student achievement, innovative thinking, and the ability to work in a K-6 context. You would ideally exhibit knowledge and experience in leading data-driven change and improvement through evidence-based practice. A commitment to working in professional learning teams, with a focus on collaboration, learning based on student needs and continual, rigorous school self-assessment and improvement cycles is desired.
