We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Catering for Kindergarten to Year 6 students, our community consists of a variety of nationalities with over 30 different languages spoken by our families.

The Role

Education Assistants are highly valued at our school and are asked to support the teaching and learning of students through assisting the teacher in delivering planned education programs with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy. Suitable applicants should be able to help in the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment and care and supervision of students in and out of class.

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will participate in professional learning opportunities to further build your skills and knowledge. In joining our dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff, you should be willing to contribute and work as part of this team and display a commitment to working collaboratively and building positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider community.

The ability to be flexible, exercise initiative and work as part of a team will be highly advantageous.  Suitable applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers to create and maintain a supportive, inclusive education program to meet the specific needs of the students. A clear understanding and knowledge of autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities strategies; anxiety disorder and sensory integration issues for students is highly desirable.
