Mount Hawthorn Primary School (PS) opened in 1906 and is situated on Wadjak Noongar boodja. The school provides outstanding educational opportunities to over 900 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Students in Pre-primary to Year 6 are at the main campus on Killarney Street, Mount Hawthorn whilst Kindergarten students learn and play at our Richmond Street, Leederville campus. Mount Hawthorn PS shares the Killarney Street campus with the highly regarded Mount Hawthorn Education Support Centre.

The Role
Join our team as a Gardener - Handyperson and contribute to fostering a positive learning environment! As a key member, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive environment for both students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds, and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and paving, you'll play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space.
Your commitment to maintaining gardening facilities, equipment, and tools in a good condition will be integral to promoting a positive culture within the school. Collaborate with the Manager of Corporate Services to develop safe work procedures, undertake risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation. The successful applicant will collaborate with a proactive P&C Grounds Committee focused on enhancing our grounds and will coordinate with parents as required.
