The Role

Applecross SHS is seeking a highly dedicated and passionate educator specialising in Design and Technology to join our vibrant and supportive school community. The ideal applicant will ideally possess a strong student-focused mindset and a relationship-driven approach to teaching. You will be committed to creating engaging, relevant, and meaningful learning experiences that connect with students individually. Your goal will be to nurture an interactive and positive learning environment that empowers students to achieve their personal best and inspire a genuine passion for the Design and Technology discipline.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and dynamic student-centred curriculum across various Design and Technology contexts. Your teaching methodology will ensure that students of all abilities are actively engaged and adequately supported, allowing them to excel in their learning endeavours. A thorough understanding of the Technology and Design Process is crucial, as well as the ability to differentiate your instruction to address our students' diverse needs and learning styles. Your expertise in curriculum planning, effective delivery, and assessment practices for both lower and upper school courses will play a pivotal role in enabling students to reach their full potential.

Experience in delivering Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)-related curriculum and the capability to collaborate effectively across the school community to promote and enhance STEM education initiatives is highly desirable. Furthermore, possessing or being willing to obtain a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be advantageous.
