
We are seeking to establish a pool of Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (AIEO) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Djidi Djidi Aboriginal School is a modern, well-resourced and aesthetically appealing school located amongst natural bushland and adjacent wetlands in Glen Iris, Bunbury. The Role
Djidi Djidi Aboriginal School located in Wardandi Country, welcomes all children both Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal from Kindergarten to Year 6 and is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic AIEOs to join their friendly and nurturing school support team.
AIEOs at Djidi Djidi Aboriginal School will support the teaching staff in the planning and implementation of engaging, challenging and supportive learning programs that give every student the opportunity to succeed. Suitable applicants will ideally provide support and effective assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their parents/guardians, teachers, the school and the community through the knowledge, understanding and sharing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, language and culture.
AIEO’s act as a liaison between the community and the school to develop an education program that is relevant to both educational and cultural needs. AIEO's assist and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, particularly those at risk, through mentoring and pastoral care to ensure their participation and achievement in the school environment.
Suitable applicants will ideally be an effective team players and good communicators. They work with teachers to implement specialised and general education programs to support the learning of all students.
