The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you would assist in the delivery of planned education programs to engage our students in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Suitable applicants should collaborate and work in a strong team-based environment, contributing your professional knowledge and expertise to develop a shared vision and goals to support our students. This may be under general supervision or autonomously. The priorities and goals of this position are to assist students to reach their full potential through the development of their academic, physical, and social skills.
You will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly motivated, and possess sound written and oral communication skills to support individual or small group-based programs. Just as importantly, you should have the capacity to support the overall health and emotional well-being of our students.
We are seeking flexible individuals who display the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively to maximise impact on student learning. Suitable applicants should ideally possess cultural awareness and be focused on delivering programs to individuals and groups, including those students with a diagnosis or complex needs. The suitable applicants should also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour and ideally have some experience or knowledge of neurodiversity.

- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students
