Oberthur Primary School (PS), an Independent Public School, is in a quiet area of Bull Creek and has a traditionally strong community involvement. The school population of 650 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, has a mix of cultural backgrounds and English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) is a feature, particularly in the early years. The school is set in attractive surroundings with many trees, shade, and well- maintained gardens.
As well as an academic focus, Oberthur PS has an historically strong and established Languages program with a Chinese Immersion (bi-lingual) program commencing in Pre-primary and fully implemented up to Year Six. In addition to Chinese (Mandarin) as our language’s context, Science, Visual Arts and aspects of Maths are delivered in Mandarin.

The Role
As an Education Assistant – Mainstream, the successful applicant will assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs across a variety of year levels and have the ability to work with individual students or small groups, including students at educational risk.
The successful applicant will also assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, materials and resources, for use in classes, displays and demonstration, and assisting the teacher with clean and safe storage of items after classes and activities. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment would be highly regarded.
