
We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher - Health and Physical Education (HPE) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Wellard Village Primary School commenced operation in 2023, with 337 students and 35 staff. The school is located on the corner of Brentford Parade and Lambeth Circle within the City of Kwinana, approximately 35km south of Perth. The school is built on and situated next to Tuart Woodlands and Forests of the Swan Coastal Plain.
To ensure the management of the native vegetation and fauna surrounding our school an 'Environmental Offset Plan' and a 'Vegetation and Fauna Management Plan' are implemented. To acknowledge the cultural and environmental history of our school, we have named our teams to embed Noongar language and connect to our local environment. Wardarn (Ocean- Blue), named in reference to Kwinana Beach and our 'she sells seashells artwork'. Marlak (Bush- Red), named in reference to the bush area at the back of our school. Binjar (Swamp- Green), named in reference to the Leda Swamp in our local intake area. Djarlma (Forest- Purple), named in reference to the Tuart Forest our school site is on.

The Role
Suitable applicants should have the knowledge and skills necessary to apply a range of high impact engaging teaching strategies and develop a positive classroom learning environment. Our teachers are dedicated and intrinsically motivated educators who have the ability to develop and differentiate high quality teaching and learning programs, to meet the needs of our students. Applicants will ideally provide excellence in creating and maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. This position involves teaching both areas of the Health and Physical Education curriculum. You will work in a team of three HPE educators who will work collaboratively for the purposes of carnivals, school sporting events and interschool events. At Wellard Village we teach Health and Physical Education across the school from Kindergarten to Year 6, and these roles will involve teaching a mix of classes.
