The Role
As an Education Assistant – Mainstream you will assist in the delivery of planned education programs that will help in the development of young minds. In this role you will collaborate and work in a team environment. You should be organised and be able to use your initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment.
Good written and oral communication skills enabling the implementation of individual or small group programs, and the ability to support general health and well-being of students is highly regarded. You should be able to work unsupervised with students on a need’s basis.
The ability to work with students of all ages, regardless of individual abilities and needs is important. You will support teachers to deliver programs and Individual Education Programs whilst also providing assessment feedback, and use initiative to support differentiated learning.
As an Education Assistant – Mainstream you would also provide support to ensure the learning environment is inclusive and relevant with the health and safety of students being a high priority.
The successful applicant will ideally have the ability to manage student behaviour in accordance with school policies and programs. Experience with the WA Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) program and Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) will be considered an advantage.
