The Role
In 2025, Hammond Park SC reached its full cohort of students from Year 7 to Year 12, having expanded one year group at a time since opening in 2020. We now have approximately 1080 students and approximately 130 staff relying on high-quality technology support. The Network Support Officer should work under limited direction from our Network Administrator, Manager Corporate Services and Associate Principal to support the day-to-day operations of our Information and Communications Technology (ICT) network. This includes providing support, advice and troubleshooting technical issues. The use of technology is embedded in our teaching and learning processes, and as such, their upkeep is important.
As a forward-thinking and dynamic College community, we invest heavily in providing the best ICT resources to support student learning outcomes. We also have a highly successful Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for senior school students. Each classroom has access to a wireless access point (WAP), projector/interactive board or television. Beyond our infrastructure, the College uses a range of equipment and software packages, including:
- Windows devices - Surface Gos, Surface Pros and desktop PCs
- Apple devices - predominantly iPads
- Photocopiers – managed through PaperCut MF (Tier 3) – both Konica and Fuji Xerox
- Vivi and Microsoft Wireless Display Adaptors
- Microsoft 365 – Teams, OneDrive/Sharepoint, Forms
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Compass and CompassLink
- JAMF Schools, Apple School Manager
- Department management software – School Self Service (SSS), DoE Account Manager (DAM)
Experience in the management of ICT equipment/software packages would be considered as advantageous though not essential.
The Network Support Officer should have the interpersonal and communication skills needed to support staff and students in troubleshooting and using ICT hardware and software. This includes working with Department of Educations’ Customer Service Centre when required, as well as with Downer – the caretaker provider for our College. As one of four high schools operating under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, the Network Support Officer should be able to work within PPP infrastructure constraints.
We are seeking applications from individuals who are flexible, efficient and passionate about effective management of ICT resources. Suitable applicants should be passionate about supporting staff and students; and ideally be able to adapt their communication skills to best support the diverse needs of our College community. The Network Support Officer may also need to assist with the management of assets and resources and should use their knowledge of network systems to maintain the College’s ICT fleet.
