
We are seeking to establish a pool of Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer’s for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise from Term 2, 2025 and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
As an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (AIEO) you will ideally assist teachers in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Suitable applicants should assist students to access the educational program and have an increased understanding of the multicultural nature of the learning environment. You will ideally act as liaison between the community and school to develop an educational program relevant to both educational and cultural needs, and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, particularly those at risk, through mentoring and pastoral care to encourage participation and achievement at school.
AIEO’s support teachers to implement the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. Suitable applicants should ideally display a strong link to Aboriginal culture, have experience in an educational setting, preferably working with Indigenous students and establish positive working relationships with our families and local community. An ability to work both in teams and individually to achieve successful outcomes for students and their families will be highly regarded.
