The Role
The Executive Support Officer is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the school's Executive team, providing administrative support to the principal and other members of the Executive team. This includes preparing and coordinating correspondence and reports, including school’s publications for the community, briefing notes, managing the Executive team's electronic calendar and schedule appointments. This role also manages incoming and outgoing enquiries, establishing, and maintaining effective communication networks with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining a confidential electronic filing system as instructed by the principal.
In addition, the Executive Support Officer conducts research and assessments of issues for the Executive team, supports and assists the team with management of critical incidents and crisis response, develops supportive links between students, families, the school and other appropriate agencies in the community. Suitable applicants would actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences within the school and other agencies as appropriate and provide information and consultancy advice.
The Executive Support Officer will also assist the Executive team with undertaking event-related activities such as researching and booking event details, developing marketing plans and promotional materials, planning events, and ensuring safety and insurance requirements are met. In this role you could also manage teacher job vacancies and liaise with the school's Human Resource Officer and the Department Workforce Directorate regarding employment and recruitment matters. You would provide advice and source information for the school Executive team in relation to recruitment and employment.

- Demonstrated sound written, oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with senior positions, internal and external clients on a wide range of issues.
- Demonstrated sound research, conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify issues and provide solutions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the youth sector, particularly local organisations and services.
- Relevant experience in the use of personal computer software applications, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel, with the ability to produce system generated reports from computerised applications.
