The Role
The successful applicant will be an active contributor to the Mathematics learning area and should be reflective in their practice to support professional growth and improve educational outcomes for students. You will ideally possess a sound understanding of the Mathematics curriculum and courses, an ability to teach at an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) level will be highly regarded. Knowledge and the ability to use high impact learning strategies to successfully engage students in Mathematics should be evident in your practice.
The ability to differentiate curriculum and implement innovative approaches to improve outcomes for both high and low achieving students is a key element to this position. You will ideally build positive relationships with your students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students, and utilise evidence based decision making skills within your practice..

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Hedland Senior High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $4 677 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
