We are seeking to establish a pool of Home Economics Assistant for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

The Home Economic Assistant supports the Department’s main objective of teaching and learning of students through assisting the teacher in delivering planned education programs and encouraging a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

As a Home Economics Assistant, you will be working within a team environment to assist the teacher in the delivery of food, textile and childcare classes. The successful applicant will be required to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment by maintaining equipment, preparing materials and resources for use in classes, and undertaking regular cleaning activities as directed. You will also be required to ensure the clean and safe storage of items after classes and activities.
