We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistant - English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EALD) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Parkwood Primary School (PS) opened in 1975 and is at the eastern end of the Fremantle-Peel Education District. The school sits adjacent to Lynwood Senior High School (SHS). Our students enjoy quality facilities, equipment, and resources to enhance their learning experiences.

The Role

The suitable applicants will support EALD students through mentoring and pastoral care to ensure their participation and achievement in the school environment. The suitable applicants will also support students through interpreting and/or translating according to their specific needs and their parents or caregivers, members of the school community and teachers where there are communication difficulties. The role requires you to support students to better utilise the educational program and increase understanding of cultural and linguistic diversity in schools. You will support students with developing linguistic and cultural understandings associated with Standard Australian English.

    • Demonstrated effective organisational skills that assist in the delivery of effective education programs to students.
    • Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
