We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Belridge Secondary Education Support Centre (ESC) focuses on achieving the best outcome for each individual student. The Centre’s emphasis is on Individual Education Planning linked to the Australian Curriculum, (Years 7 – 10) and Endorsed Programs, VET and WPL programs (Years 11 and 12). In 2025 Belridge SESC expects to continue to cater for in excess of 110 secondary aged students with a diverse range of educational needs in Years 7 to 12. The use of many evidence-based strategies and practices are utilised and familiarity or awareness of these are desirable such as: Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Direct Instruction (DI), Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communications Handicapped Children (TEACCH), and the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication. As a school we are committed to providing our staff with appropriate and targeted professional learning across all of these and other areas.
We have high expectations of our students and work in partnership with parents and other stakeholders to provide authentic and relevant programs. Programs include the Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) Endorsed Programs, Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses and middle school programs that align with the Western Australian Curriculum.
There is a strong commitment by staff at Belridge SESC to work as part of a team and accept leadership roles and responsibilities beyond their classroom. All staff are expected to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and other staff. Staff are encouraged to attend relevant, ongoing professional development sessions and to take an active part in decision making at the Centre. We are committed to maximising the educational achievement of all students, promoting acceptance and tolerance of individual differences in self and others, and encouraging open and positive communication with all stakeholders. Students are consistently given clear guidelines for appropriate behaviour at school and behaviour support strategies are implemented in line with the school’s developed PBS framework which is implemented in a positive, rational and professional manner in collaboration with parents.
