The Role
The Assistant Gardener - Handyperson is responsible for maintaining the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition, ensuring a conducive external learning environment for students and staff. This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies.
The Assistant Gardener - Handyperson is also tasked with maintaining gardening facilities, equipment (including outdoor education equipment), tools, and machinery in a clean, safe and serviceable condition, reporting faults promptly, and adhering to safe work practices. Applicants that also hold a HR class drivers’ licence to assist with transporting school buses for servicing and repairs would be highly desirable.
The Assistant Gardener - Handyperson plays a crucial role in ensuring the school's outdoor spaces are well-maintained and conducive to a positive learning environment.
