The Role
Wanneroo (SC) is seeking an innovative Head of Learning Area (HOLA) committed to achieving the best educational outcomes for our students in the Science Learning Area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly effective and empowered individual to join our leadership team, as Head of Learning Area (HoLA) Science. This position provides a unique opportunity to continue to build and develop a growing team, and we are therefore seeking applicants ideally with demonstrated leadership success.
As HOLA you should continue to build and develop the Science learning area, developing a culture of high-quality teaching and leadership. You should model innovative, solutions-focused, and evidence-based thinking. Working collaboratively with your science team you will ideally implement whole school policies, processes, and procedures, embedding a culture of professional leadership, trust, and ongoing improvement for our students and staff.
The successful applicant should be a dedicated, highly competent, and enthusiastic HoLA, ideally with excellent interpersonal skills to provide effective and distributed leadership within the learning area. You should be committed to promoting and fostering academic aspiration and engagement, in an environment where achievement is celebrated. The HoLA Science should have an excellent understanding of data analysis and skills in evidence-based planning to improve student learning. They should have a commitment to improved results for all students, in a planned and strategic manner. They will ideally utilise their high-level data literacy skills and monitoring processes to support all students. As an expert practitioner, you should ideally have a commitment to excellence in teaching and engage in ongoing self-reflection. The ability to authentically evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practice and team performance is an important aspect of the role. Another ideal attribute is the ability to create environments conducive to learning and provide educational opportunities that are purposeful and relevant, catering for different student learning needs.
