This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2025
Bob Hawke College has emerged as a central hub of the Subiaco East Redevelopment precinct with its innovative design and shared facilities. Bob Hawke College intends to deliver academic excellence in a learning environment that sets high standards in quality care for students. We aim to create experiences where students learn both about the world around them, and of themselves. We seek to develop local, national, and international partnerships, creating meaningful relationships to improve learning opportunities for our students. We are part of the fabric of Subiaco, with a commitment to excellence and equity.
As a fully inclusive college, we are committed to fostering a learning environment where all students belong, feel safe, and can meaningfully participate in their education. Inclusion at our school is both a place and a process—requiring flexibility, agility, and a deep understanding of how students learn. The Inclusion Facilitators plays a critical role in equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills to plan for universal accessibility and personalise learning for all students, with a focus on high-incidence disabilities such as ASD, ADHD, and SLDs.

The Role
The successful applicant would possess superior interpersonal skills and a capacity to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with students, teachers and the wider community. The role calls for qualified teachers with the ability to work in an inclusive school environment supporting students with complex learning profiles (including those experiencing intellectual, social and emotional, physical and sensory barriers) to apply. The successful applicant would ideally be committed to achieving the best educational outcomes for our students aligned with our inclusive vision for our College community which celebrates diversity, disability pride and a strengths-based perspective.
A willingness to contribute to the curriculum development and pedagogy that meets the needs of at risk students is essential.
The successful applicant would ideally demonstrate an understanding of students' diverse physical, social, cognitive and regulation needs, using input from families and allied health professionals and observational data to design inclusive, accessible, and well-sequenced learning experiences. Also having the capacity to model and coach inclusive practices, such as universal design for learning, emotional regulation, and differentiation alongside staff.
As part of your professional practice you will use your knowledge to develop a range of documented plans such as IEPs and Inclusion Plans for students in their care with complex learning profiles. This will be in collaboration with Inclusion Team to allocate learning support resources, including Education Assistants, in response to the needs of students and teachers. Through the collation of data, you will identify and understand barriers to learning, tracking the effectiveness of implemented strategies and supports. This will include supporting teachers to implement equitable adjustments in assessments and developing ATAR Equitable Access applications.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to display care; be curious about learning and about learners; be invested in the College and the community by building strong partnerships with families, allied health professionals and community organisations. Having a sense of humour; and be reflective of themselves and their practice is also beneficial.
