Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to appoint a committed, competent, and enthusiastic English teacher to join their team.
Piara Waters SHS is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and will form part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. Piara Waters SHS commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, and will add each year to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.

The Role
We are ideally looking for an applicant who models excellence in teaching, evidence based planning and effective instructional practice to support the learning needs of all students. They should set high standards whilst delivering a rigorous curriculum which is both challenging and rewarding. Programs should be relevant and link to the ‘real’ world experiences with a focus on 21st century learning. The successful applicant should be data literate and possess effective classroom management skills. They should be motivated to work in a team environment and support the development of a positive culture. As a foundation school, the flexibility and ability to teach in other areas would be highly desirable.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to reflect and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice, promote an environment of active and deep learning, whilst providing educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. Using their effective interpersonal skills, the successful applicant will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. They will support the English Learning Area team to strategically meet the learning needs of all students studying the English curriculum, including students with disabilities and special needs.
