The Role
The successful applicant will ideally possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to provide students with the highest quality curriculum delivery and programs within the Technologies (Home Economics) and Arts Learning Area. Ideally the successful applicant should be able to self-reflect and assess the effectiveness of their teaching practice, promote an environment of active and positive learning, and provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential.
This position will be working across the school from primary to high school classes with small numbers of students who enjoy hands on projects.
We value the linking of learning with real world experiences and how this enables connections they can take into pathways beyond school. A thorough understanding of instructional and curriculum design, whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area would be highly regarded. Utilising effective interpersonal skills, you would work closely with students, teachers and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
The successful applicant will ideally be able to display differentiated teaching practices within the classroom, and skills and strategies that support the development of the Food Production and Textiles curriculum across classes of varied abilities. Due to the increasing depth and breadth of District High School subject offerings, the role may take you outside of the Technologies learning area, flexibility would be highly desirable.
