The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally collaborate as an effective member of the School Executive team, to lead the culture of the school, where high support and high accountability is a feature of everyday service and professional interaction across our range of diverse sites. The role will require suitable applicants to possess current, evidence-based knowledge of best practice in leading teams, inspiring others in the workplace and achieving measurable results that benefits the various stakeholders who use our service.
Suitable applicants will be able to display previous experience, leading teams to innovatively solve complex problems, often in challenging circumstances. An ability to lead staff through a considered change management approach while adhering to policy compliance in an environment of consistent, constructive staff feedback on practice is essential.
The suitable applicant will ideally possess exemplary teaching, learning and behaviour management practices. As Associate Principal you should have an outstanding knowledge of Teaching for Impact to ensure our teaching and learning program is meeting the varied and complex needs of our students. You should have highly efficient communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively with others to sustain a professional team culture whereby staff feel supported to share and model best practice.
As an Associate Principal you should display an ability to build capacity in staff using a variety of development and coaching methods. The suitable applicant will undertake reflective performance development discussions adhering to the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) standards and provide guidance to ensure a consistent high level of performance is occurring, whilst be able to reflect and assess the effectiveness of each team member.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Ravensthorpe District High School in 2025 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3 500 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
