This is a permanent full-time position commencing March 2025
The Non-Government School Regulation Directorate oversees registration of non-government schools in Western Australia. Registration provides assurance to parents and the community that non-government schools meet the standards determined by the Minister for Education and Training and other requirements specified in Part 4 of the School Education Act 1999 and the School Education Regulations 2000. The Directorate also oversees the registration of schools registered to enrol international student visa holders.
The Role
As a Principal Consultant in Non-Government School Regulation, you will lead the delivery of client-centred regulatory services for education providers across Western Australia. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the regulatory landscape for non-government schooling, ensuring compliance and quality in education provision. From managing complex projects and budgets to overseeing the development of innovative systems and processes, you will be at the forefront of driving efficiency and effectiveness in regulatory practices.
In this leadership position, you will collaborate with State and Commonwealth agencies and engage with stakeholders to address emerging trends and issues impacting education regulation. Your expertise will support strategic planning, risk-based regulation, and the delivery of high-quality services while fostering strong networks and partnerships. With direct oversight of a talented team, you will manage performance, guide sensitive investigations, and contribute to process improvements, ensuring a high standard of service delivery in a dynamic and impactful environment.

- Demonstrated experience in leading and undertaking complex assessments and investigations and providing cogent reports and high-level advice.
- Demonstrated substantial experience in managing teams and the delivery of services, including the ability to contribute to the development of quality systems and comply with agency processes and accountability requirements.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, including high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills and proven ability to develop and maintain networks and effective relationships with stakeholders and clients within the school sector.
