We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs – Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Since opening in 2012 with 480 students, our school has grown and evolved, reaching nearly 1000 students at its peak. Today, we serve approximately 420 students, supported by a dedicated team of 50 staff. We also host the Meadow Springs Education Support Centre, which provides support for an additional 70 students, with 60 staff. Both schools proudly share the mantra, ‘Two Schools, One Community’.

The Role
As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will assist teachers with providing support for students with special needs. You will ideally, under general supervision and guidance, assist in the implementation of specialised education programs. Additionally, you will assist the teacher in the delivery of planned education programs, including the operation of computers and digital technologies, and implement individual student or small group programs or demonstrations.
Suitable applicants will ideally work under general supervision and autonomously and will be required to contribute advice and expertise, actively collaborating with colleagues to support student and whole school achievement.
Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with the teacher. They should be organised and able to use their initiative to assist the teacher with the general care and well-being of students and maintenance of the learning environment.

- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
