The Role
Sutherland Dianella PS is seeking Education Assistants (Special Needs) to support our programs. Suitable applicants will assist teachers in delivering planned educational programs, such as individualised learning plans, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment within a mainstream setting. We are looking for proactive Education Assistants who can work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
Suitable applicants will possess strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos, and priorities across the school community. Applicants should be compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans.
Additionally, applicants should have the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, and teachers. Knowledge of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour, as well as experience or knowledge of a variety of disabilities, is also desired.

- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team in the evaluation of educational programs, including special education and therapy programs where these have been implemented.
- Demonstrated good organisational skills that will assist in the delivery and development of effective education programs to students and subsequent feedback to teaching professionals or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with general health and well-being of students.
