This is a permanent part-time (0.4TE) position commencing February 2025
The Role
As a Boarding Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting students' wellbeing and development within a caring and inclusive residential environment. You will be responsible for supervising students, fostering respect for multicultural diversity, and promoting positive behaviour aligned with the values of the Department of Education. By planning and implementing engaging leisure activities, you will create opportunities for students to enhance their academic, social, emotional, and physical skills. Additionally, you will coordinate and provide transportation for students to various activities and events.
Collaboration and communication will be central to your success in this role. You will liaise regularly with students, college staff, parents, and school personnel to ensure a supportive and responsive environment. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining accurate student records, distributing medications as needed, and promptly reporting concerns related to student welfare, safety, and maintenance issues. A commitment to professional development and adherence to the Public Sector Code of Ethics and relevant Department policies will underpin your contribution to fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing residential setting.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
- obtain or hold (and maintain) a current Working with Children Check
- work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays
- obtain (prior to first rostered shift working with students) and maintain a current:
- First Aid Certificate – Provide CPR (HLTAID009); and
- First Aid Certificate – Provide First Aid (HLTAID011);
- within six months of commencement of employment obtain and maintain a current:
- LR Class Driver’s Licence and a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation
- Aquatic Rescue for Group lll Pool Award*
- Surf Rescue Certificate*
- obtain a Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care (CHC42021) within six months of commencement of employment.
* Dependent on operational requirements as determined by College Manager.

- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write plans, pastoral notes and reports; and interact positively with students and parents including those with diverse multicultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated capacity to successfully meet and maintain the required eligibility and training requirements of this position.
