We are seeking to establish a pool of Mainstream Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants for this role will ideally possess strong people skills and the demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and parents. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate applicants who have the needs of all students at the heart of what they do and are willing to work collaboratively to help create and maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment for all.
In this role, you will be required to assist with the implementation of individual or small group programs, as well as demonstrate the ability to support the general health and well-being of all students. Strong communication and organisation skills are required in this role to ensure consistency in the learning environment and a clear sense of unity within the team.
Suitable applicants will ideally be organised and be able to use their initiative to assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment, including supporting students with access to digital technology. At South Bunbury PS we have a strong pastoral care program focused on Positive Behaviour Support. Our whole school 'You Can Do It' in conjunction with our PBS approach supports the social emotional development and wellbeing of all students. These programs promote the positive behaviour expectations and emotional development needed to grow successfully both academically and socially.
The successful applicant will understand the importance of consistency of practice and will follow teacher expectations and individual student plans to achieve desired outcomes. Successful applicants have an understanding of trauma-informed practices as well as strategies to support the inclusion of students with special needs and will utilise this knowledge to adopt a proactive approach to supporting students to learn appropriate behaviours and engage students in restorative practices to rebuild relationships.
