About the position

AGWA is looking for an experienced individual with excellent hands-on technical skills and high-level attention to detail to contribute to the Gallery’s Conservation team. The Framer / Mount Maker provides specialist services for works of art in the State Art Collection including framing and mount-cutting, and design and fabrication of bespoke mounts for three-dimensional objects, working in consultation with Gallery staff from the Collections and Curatorial teams.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) is the State’s premier Art Museum. Situated in the heart of Perth’s Cultural Centre, AGWA holds the State Art Collection of over 18,700 works by renowned local and international artists from the 1800’s to today, including approximately 3,000 Aboriginal works.

Other Conditions

This is a full time, permanent vacancy.  Part-time or job share arrangements will be considered for the right applicant.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants for this position may be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within the Culture and Arts Portfolio and/or the wider public sector which arise within a reasonable period of time. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Future vacancies may be considered - fixed term, part time and full time.
