The Role
As a key member of our Career and Vocational Education (CAVE) team, the Student Pathways Officer supports the delivery of Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Workplace Learning (WPL) programs. The Student Pathways Officer supports students completing work placements through the School Curriculum and Standards Authority Developed Workplace Learning Program (ADWPL).
The Student Pathways Officer is responsible for locating and securing appropriate industry placements with existing and new workplace partners, using their excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate positive relationships. They ensure compliance with Workplace Learning processes against the Duty of Care for Public School Students policies and procedures; including supporting students in the workplace, completing workplace visits and pre-placement inductions with employers as required. Applicants who possess the capacity to be organised, work collaboratively, show initiative and be flexible in supporting students from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The Student Pathways Officer also supports the monitoring of students' participating in WPL/VET programs and completes data entry in key software systems. Experience recording student attendance in Compass, maintaining databases, preparing correspondence and completing documentation relating to student placements is desirable. As such, applicants who possess strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills are encouraged to apply.
Experience in the use of Reporting to Parents - Work Placement, Reporting to Parents - VET and managing student attendance will be highly regarded.
